What about my internship? I’ve a lot of things to say.

First, I did not expect a company of this type: by reading mails, I thought, and Fanny too, that this company was already created and employs several people. But no! I was wrong! Press Releases Network (it’s the name of the company) is not created and there’s no employees because our boss doesn’t earn enough money. PRN is a start up! So when we arrived, there was just Nicolas, a trainee in ingenery and our boss. So we were really surprised to see that!

The office is in a flat in the center of Barcelona and there’re a lot of shops close to the office, something very practical: we can eat something different every 3 days; we have choice between pizza, hot sandwiches or tortilla (a speciality from Spain just like an omelet but better than in France).

We have comfortable schedules: from 8 a.m to 14 p.m. We have all our afternoons free so we can do everything that we want (visits, walk on the beach or on the Rambla …). But get up in the morning is harder: to be on time at work, we have to get up at 6h……so difficult!! Then, bus and metro, which means 45 minutes in public transports. But with a good breakfast, let’s go for a new day!!!

So I come back to our first day at work. During 2h, our boss made a presentation of his company (the 2 hours was a little bit long ……). Then, we had to read what the former trainees have done (Study of the competition, study of the promotions). Then, a break from 12 to 12.30 to eat and come back to the reading. We was happy to stop at 14 p.m because it was a little bit boring to read during a long time.

Since the second day, we are working on the promotion policy: we have to complete all the services promotions and to traduce it in english. As we don’t speak english, that’s a good a point because we can write in english. So it’s an interesting work because it’s something we’ve never learned before.

Meanwhile, two other trainees arrived two weeks ago: it’s two girls, Maruska and Florianne, older than us, and they study in Nantes. They are working with us in the marketing department because there are too much things to do.

To stay motivated, we can listen to music while working: it's better than always silence!

Some pictures and video to see how it is to work in PRN!

Ciao!!

Around the Rambla

Barcelona is a really nice city to see at night because everything is enlightened and there are a lot of people who are disguised as famous movie characters.

Even if temperatures were not really warm, it was a good day of visits and we have seen that Barcelona is as beautiful in the daytime as at night!

I've just noticed that I've never talked to you about my new home and the three roommates, who share this flat with us (Fanny and me).
About our roommates:
First, Marianna is 28 years old and works in the marketing field and her daughter, Geraldine, 7 years old, is everyday in a nursery school.
Our third roommate is Diana, from Colombia. She's 22 and is a student like us. Fortunately, she speaks English so we can talk to her, but, as Marianna speks only Spanish, Diana need to translate. The problem is that Diana is Canaria Islands for 10 days so we have to do with some words we learned in spanish. But this is the only way to learn spanish!

About our flat:
There is 1 kitchen for everybody; even if we are 5 in the same flat it's enough because we have not the same schedules so we don't eat at the same time. Then, there are 4 rooms (1 for Diana, 2 for us and 1 for Marianna and Geraldine), 2 bathrooms and 2 livingrooms.

This flat would be perfect without a problem with water: indeed, when we take a shower, the water doesn't go away, so we have to use the suction cup..... It's not really important. There was a second problem: when we arrived at Barcelona, the weather was cold and it rained ....and we didn't have a heating in the flat!! So we had to put big  pull-over in our rooms because temperatures was not very hot...Now, it's ok, the owner bought 2 heatings for each of us. It's the only 2 problems that we have, otherwise we're feeling at home here!

So now that you know where we live, I'll talk to you about our job in the next episode!
Bye bye!!!

PS: some pictures of our flat follow this article.
